To this point we had driven from Mariposa to Sutter's Mill From Sutter's Mill (105 heat) we drove to 75 coolt at Point Reyes

Way out on point, we descend 300 steps to lighthousel Point Reyes lighthouse is one of the foggiest and windiest sites in the country.

We stayed at the Inverness Lodge across Tomales Bay from the mainland. This "grocery" store was fantastic...had anything you could want and delicious sandwiches. A scene looking across Tomales Bay at the mainland

Tiburon, site of our Elderhostel, lies on a peninsular jutting out into the San Francisco Bay; adjacent to Sausalito. It's a plush upscale commuter community.. That's San Francisco across the bay The Elderhostel featured Gershwin's music. It was a pleasant week and we met some interesting people...among whom were Nate and Marjorie. He's a playwright and she's a NY Times editor for crossword puzzles.

San Francisco..."open your golden gates..." What a town!. Our "happening" ended, as it so often does, at our favorite "getaway" spot, The Inn at Moro Bay.
